The Avalon Alegria is Avalon Waterways' first purpose-built Suite Ship designed specifically for Portugal's Douro River, entering service in 2024. A more intimate version of Avalon's celebrated Suite Ships, the Alegria carries just 102 guests in 51 staterooms, offering a relaxed, boutique atmosphere as it sails roundtrip itineraries through the terraced vineyards, quintas, and historic riverside villages of the Douro Valley.

Like the rest of the Avalon fleet, the Alegria showcases the line's signature Panorama Suites, where wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows open to create an Open-Air Balcony and window-facing "Beds with a View". Onboard, guests enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, versatile FlexDining venues serving regional Portuguese cuisine and wines, a Sky Deck for taking in the passing scenery, and the personal, attentive service for which Avalon Waterways is known.
